Thanks this helped, I have my prom in 2 days and have had a outbreak of about 4 cold sores between my upper lip and nose, im so unlucky considering i have been looking forward to this day for the past few months
ive bought a good concealor for the day and have also tried nail varnish, numberous cold sore creams, compeed patches, after shave and ice on it and they seem to have stopped throbbing so hopefully that will speed up the recovery process! Thanks again, i will be trying alcohol now!

I felt a cold sore coming on so I took 2 500 mg pills of lysine. In the past I found lysine to cut my 10-14 day cycle down about 3 days. Not enough. I wanted these things gone sooner. Unfortunately the next morning what started out as a tiny blister blew up into a huge sore on my upper right lip. At the end of the day because I smoke the sore spread into 3 more on my lower lip.
I have finally found the best, quickest remedy for removing cold sore in 3 days. I cleaned the area with soap, brushed my teeth, and took a tissue soaked in rubbing alcohol and began rubbing the infected areas. I did this repeatedly and finally I noticed the pussy white areas and blisters coming off of my face. Now this really hurt and by the time I was done the infection was completely gone. It looked pretty bad at first and did get sore and red and burned to no end. I repeated this step 2x’s a day for 2 days and applied triple antibiotic after and used ice several times when the burning was bad. The antibiotic helped keep it moist, so as not to crack and eventually the burning went away. Sure enough in 24 hours most of the infection was gone and it reduced to barely being noticed compared to when the puss was there. Had I done this when it first appeared I would have had only one and it would have been gone. It still has to heal but again, the infection is gone. Excellent tip – use it. I have suffered with these sores for over 15 years and finally found the quickest way to cleanly get rid of them.

I honestly believe in one remedy only, Ive tried everything under the sun.
The only thing that works is zinc oxide, yes, diaper rash cream, it works like a charm, just put it on before bed when you first see it.
If you would post this it would be great to help everyone get rid of the most annoying thing of all time. Thanks
